Sunday July 24th

We said good-bye to Manuella and Andreas and headed to the Masai Mara.  The drive to Little Naibor showed the terrain was very different - lots of river crossings over rocks.  It's amazing what these Land Rovers can do. On the drive we saw a leopard which is a real coup.  We also saw our first topi.

There are so many antelope varieties that we will never get them all straight.  The one we do remember is the Impala because of the M on the bum.

While I'm not sure that the animals love this, Tim and Lawrence taught us a cool trick. They would clap once loudly and then you could see how high they jump - it's quite a sight.  I say it keeps them in training for when they have to leap out of the way from a predator.

We had lunch al fresco overlooking the Talek River where there is a watering hole filled with hippos.  After lunch we went to check out our rooms and once again our tent met Cory's living standard.  I think she is starting to believe she could become a camper.

Our night drive was another exciting one.  We saw 1 male lion and 2 females both of whom were pregnant.

There was a beautiful sunset - one of the many we saw.

Favorite bird of the day: Lilac Breasted Roller
